happy mother's day.

It's so easy to count your blessings when you have been given so many precious gifts. On this day in particular, Mother's Day... my heart is full. I am so humbled that I have the incredible mother I do, and not only that, but I can call her my best friend. She's unmistakably one of my life's most cherished blessings. I have so much admiration, respect, and love for her I cannot put it into words.

When I became a mother myself, at 8:11am on Saturday, October 20, 2007-- a whole new level of love and respect was born for my mom. In the days, weeks, and sleepless nights that have followed I only grow more thankful for the patient, gentle, tender, enthusiastic, encouraging, generous, fun-loving soul that she has. I could not have asked for a better example as a mother, and I pray that I am half of the gift to my children that she has been to me.

In the ultimate of Mother's Day gifts, sweet Carson slept in his "big boy bed" for the first time last night and he did GREAT! We finally got his monitors set up and his bed rails put on his bed... he was so proud! And, so were we!

Yesterday afternoon, as we got everything set up...

... and he's sleeping like an angel!
