Mini Mail mama's it's time to show off the packages you sent and received for the month of October.
October's assignment was "sort of a hodge podge-- you can make it what you wish! It's officially Fall...
Halloween is weeks away... weather is changing... since you don't "know" your partners favorites/interests/etc.
quite yet, here's some ideas of what you might send to your partner this month: Trick-or-Treating goodies,
some mittens or fun cozy socks, something that is YOUR child's favorite as a way of introducing themselves,
draw pictures, send something from your home town or state... the options are endless. We'll make this
sort of a Trick-or-Treat grab bag for the very first send off. "
I hope that your kids loved sending and receiving their packages.
My boys are LOVING their pen pals. Slade is a little young to "get it"
but when his box arrived, he sure did enjoy its contents.
Admittedly, October is the busiest, craziest, most jam-packed month of my year.
So, I was a pure genius to take of mini mail for the first time this month.
My packages didn't go out until Monday, the 17th like a very naughty mommy.
And... they weren't THE BEST packages ever.
BUT we have November & December to redeem ourselves!
Isn't that what motherhood is really all about?
Doing our very best and showing grace as often as possible? Yes and yes.
Slade's pen pal is precious June Jeffrey.
I may or may not be drafting contracts to arrange their marriage 20-something years from now.
We sent sweet little June some Halloween goodies, but I'll let her darling mommy
show them off on her blog. Here's how we wrapped up her package.
Carson's pen pal is J.David -- he and Carson are less than 24 hours apart in age. Actually, his mommy Jamie and I went to high school together for a few years. They now live in St. Louis... and we often say that we'd just LOVE for these two boys to be playmates. We just know they'd be the best of friends. This is such a fun chance for J.David and Carson to get to "know" each other from afar.
I have been itching to make a "Fort Kit" for a while now and J.David's pen pal package seemed like
the perfect opportunity. He's "all boy" like my Carson-- and they actually get cold weather there...
so I thought he'd enjoy making his own little indoor tent and hideout.
I used this link/post/tutorial as my guide for sewing the fort and gathering supplies for the Fort Kit.
I designed the fort kit tag myself in Picnik.
We sent some other goodies and treats too... but the highlight of this package was the fort!
Here's some photos of my littles receiving their packages from their pen pals.
Sleepy Slader hugging "June's Favorite Book." Big brother Carson has this book,
so Slade's so excited to have his very own. Sometimes it's more fun just to have your very own.
June sent Slade some of her favorites: snacks, stickers, glow sticks, a book and the sweet note.
Such a perfect gift for my little Slader.
Carson got a super fun package from J.David. These boys are two peas in a pod so it's going to be easy to find favorites for the two of them. Carson got Cars goodies, drawings and a birthday card from J.David, and the cutest little monster shirt with his name on it. He was so excited about all of it.
Thank you, thank you June and J.David for sending such sweet packages to Carson & Slade.
We are so excited for November's send off.
Details on what your assignment for November are will be on the blog bright & early on the 1st.
Mama's... we'd love to see how your pen pal exchange went.
