hanging out.

It's been so wonderful having the option to go outside and play.
I don't know about your kids, but mine have BAZILLIONS of toys, a literal playroom full.
But, I feel like I have to practically beg them to play with them so often.
What is up with that? And, many days when it's a great time to go outside to play,
they stand at the backdoor and want to be back inside? I mean, what gives?
So I try to think of ways to entice them... lets have LUNCH outside!
Lets go jump on the trampoline with balls! And the tried and true hit of Springtime...
LETS CRUNCH A FEW DOZEN CONFETTI EGGS!
I've been bringing my things out to our patio table and hanging out in the sunshine with my boys.
It's a great way for me to get caught up on things, to plan our menus, return emails,
schedule blog posts, and enjoy a little "me time" while still being right there beside the boys as they play.

It's so funny, when we first started playing with confetti eggs, Slade didn't really understand them
and lost interest quickly. But he's totally figured out what happens when you throw them
on the ground and he's all about it! So... they cartons don't last nearly as long and Carson
has some competition in the egg smashing department.

It's safe to say these $2 cartons have been a huge hit in our house this season.
What are your kiddos favorite things to do?... you know during that weird time of day when
everyone's had naps, it's too early to settle down for the day, but too late to get out and go somewhere?

  2. We are enjoying outdoors here in Alabama as well. I just love to read your blog. Oh I am loving you Mac Book and Erin Condran planner. I really need to invest in both. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. Which sharpies are thoughs?

  3. We've been spending a TON of time in our backyard, too! Sidewalk chalk, "painting" with a paintbrush and water, hide and seek, tag, and bubbles have kept us busy. There is definitely a lull in the afternoon for us, too. We usually do a walk around the neighborhood or art (color, paint, play dough, etc.).
    Love your blog! :)
